3 Things to Do to Prepare for Your Event

Whether your event is of a personal or business nature, there is doubtless a lot to do in order to prepare for it. In fact, you might find it difficult to remember whether you have done everything you need to do!
But if you don’t remember everything, at least remember the basics. Here are 3 things you absolutely need to remember to do to prepare for your event.
- Plan for crowd control. Guests will need to know where to park, where to check their coats, where they can smoke, which direction they should walk (i.e. through a buffet), and where they should wait in line. Jersey barriers, plastic barriers, and crowd control signs can take care of this for you. If you are renting out a venue for a wedding or a party, they might be taking care of this for you, but it’s best to never assume — always check with the venue.
- Make sure you have ordered all the food, favors, and/or promotional materials for the event. Keep your guests happy — and, if you are having a business event, don’t forget about promotion! These are possibly two of the most important things, so be sure you do everything you need to do to fulfill these goals.
- Always have a Plan B. For instance, if your event is outside and the weather turns bad, where will you move it to? And if a presentation falls through, what will take its place? Plan for the worst and expect the best!
