Professional Help for Taxes
By PRP on Aug 12, 2008 in Finance
I always did my income taxes all by myself because the information that I was using for those taxes was fairly simple. However, things have changed in recent years. I have purchased property which I rent out which means that I have a rental income to report and I also have the cost and depreciation of the property to take into consideration. I have also switched from working in a company to doing self-employed work which means that there are different forms to fill out on a quarterly basis and different things to factor in as deductions on my taxes. It’s gotten complicated and I’ve finally decided that I’m going to need the help of professionals to get the job done.
There are two different sets of professionals that I’ll be working with on my taxes this year. This first is a set of income tax specialists who are knowledgeable about assisting self-employed individuals with getting the most back on their taxes. The second is a set of cost segmentation professionals who are going to apply their knowledge of cost seg engineering to assessing the property that I own and trying to get me back the most on that which is possible given the depreciation of the building over time. I am hoping that the assistance of these two sets of professionals will ultimately result in more money in my pocket as well as an easier time doing taxes!
