The other day I had a friend ask me, “What do religious tattoos and tribal tattoos, two very common sorts of designs, have in common?” I replied I had no idea, and here is what he said: Both feature designs connected with belief, or faith, in some element of the surrounding world or higher power. The use of these types of design is often undertaken by persons believing in the various matters of faith associated with the given design. I can see that, considering how many of these designs I see and who I see sporting them typically. I know sailors wore inked adornments to protect them from drowning at sea (or so I read), so do modern day persons use body art. Not sure if it’s really the same thing, but I know there is belief behind it, at least in some cases. I think other find comfort and solace within the tattoo, whether it’s someone’s name or a religious symbol. I can see it working almost like a charm of sorts, and it’s there every day to look at and ponder. I like the thought of that!

I can just imagine how it was when my grandparents, or maybe even my parents, went to the doctor. He or she was considered the final word on healthcare; you asked what you needed to do or take to cure your ill, they told you, and you did it. Now I’m not disparaging medicine, I just think you need to be an active participant in your own healthcare, that’s all. Especially if what you’ve been trying isn’t working. Take medical magnets as an example. I don’t know how long they’ve been around, but I’m pretty sure doctors weren’t writing orders to their patients to go out and get them for pain management. My question is: why not? They work! Sure, they may not be as effective as those crazy strong pain pills some people take like medicine, but as far as natural pain relief goes, they are great. Everyone has their own choice on how they want to manage their medical treatment; all I am saying is that you should manage your treatment, not just blindly follow the advice of a practitioner. Regardless of thier training they are still just practitioners: who is to say that other alternatives aren’t the answer?

Many businesspeople tend to choose business-class hotels when they go on business trips. However, bed and breakfasts can be a surprisingly cost effective alternative to the cookie cutter environment of a business hotel.
For instance, say you are taking a business trip to New England. There are many affordable New England bed and breakfasts in the area, both in the major cities as well as just a short drive away. Many of these B&Bs offer the most important incentives of business-class hotels: For instance, many Massachusetts inns offer wireless Internet.
The advantages of a Connecticut bed and breakfast or another New England B&B can be found in what they can offer that a hotel can’t. For instance, a bed and breakfast offers a much quieter, relaxing, peaceful place to work. Of course, one of the main advantages is the breakfast — which enables you to forego the cost of that meal every day, often for not much more than a business-class hotel would cost.
If all of these advantages aren’t enough to convince you, consider that you will be happier and more relaxed on your trip if you stay at a nice B&B — and happier, more relaxed people also tend to do better work!
